Next Nuno Top

View nuno This is going to be a sleeveless top hopefully made to wear 4 ways ,inside out, rightway, upsidedown, and rightwayup  so here we go
4 pieces of silk 80cms by 75cms lay on top of 4 pieces of needlefelt and felt to prefelt stage —silk just holding the fibres–then we dye by which ever method you want to use –those needing to know how to dye leave a comment  and I will do a piece on dyeing in more detail

These are the silk and needlefelted sheets felted together lightly, then dyed .I used the arashi method with the wine bottle, and string  icecream containers and 3-4 mins in microwave.I hasten to add I only use this microwave for dyeing not cooking .

More tomorrow as we look at assembling the 4 sheets made with the overlays -I would like to make good progress with this before my op next Friday then I have something to playat topstitching and embroidering whilst I recover trying to find a good novel to carry me through a week of pain and fed upnesswithout resorting to the chocolate box .Happy felting

  1. Hi Chrissie
I’d love to hear/read how you dye your fibers. Hope the op goes well. I had a hysterectomy 18 months ago and had 3 months of recuperating. I organised all my projects into tubs so Hubby could get them for me. I also bought two of those sets of drawers on wheels and had them beside my chair with all my bits and bobs in. I finished so many little projects I was really pleased with myself.
As for finding solace in a book and a box of chocolate sounds like a brilliant idea to me. Have you read any J D Robb. Futuristic murder mysterys a really good read in my opinion.

  2. Good morning,

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s post. I started what I had hoped would be a really cool dress yesterday…Had a marvelous vision in my head…Wound up being a horrid looking prom/ bridesmaid dress…It’s going into the scrap pile. I told you I couldn’t sew! 🙂

  3. Well, maybe I’d be able to manage 4 rows of tacking, if I could cover it all up with felt. I can’t sew to save my life. You know you’re going to have problems when you can’t even thread the needle. Are they making the holes smaller on those needles or what? Couldn’t be that I’m getting older:-)
